Biggest questions about sourcing? I want to hear them.

The subject of selling books and media with Fulfillment by Amazon is huge. There are so many facets to the business, and almost all of them are inadequately covered in both the websites and books available on the subject (including mine).

The secret world of sourcing

The questions that seem to come up most pertain to sourcing, i.e. where to get inventory. I’m basing this on the feedback I’ve received from Amazon Autopilot, and what I remember struggling with when I got started (part-time) 5 years ago. I’ve advanced since the beginning, from a time when I was averaging about $10 an hour in return (including time at the post office), to today where I average over $45 an hour (using Fulfillment by Amazon).

It’s always important to keep in advancing, both in business and every aspect of life. So for the benefit of everyone reading, I’d like to start a series on advancements in sourcing. To do that, I want to hear from you:

What are your biggest sourcing questions?

A few questions I am always looking for better answers to are:

• How can I get more textbooks?
• What’s the most compelling way to arrange deals with thrift stores?
• How can I build relationships with estate liquidators for first crack at their books?
• How can I hire scouters to source books for me?

These are just a few questions that come to mind when I think about how I’d like to advance with sourcing.
